Radiology

Radiology is the use of X-rays to take an internal picture of a pets organs and bones. We recently added a digital x-ray machine to enhance our imaging capabilities.

Digital Radiography benefits:

-High resolution images for better accuracy
-Less radiation exposure
-More enviornmentally friendly - it eliminates the need to use and store chemicals for processing films
-Images can be transmitted electronically for access to specialists
-Faster diagnoses means treament of patients can begin sooner.

Commonly used to diagnose problems such as:

- Broken bones
- Arthritis
- Foreign body ingestion (eg: balls or bones)
- Pneumonia
- Heart disease
- Bladder stones
- Constipation
- Cancer
- Liver & Kidney disease
