Dr. Glavin opened our facility in 1993. He converted an existing private residence into the Carp Road Animal Hospital, while preserving a small apartment within for his growing family. After six years, both the hospital and the family had outgrown their spaces and the hospital has since undergone numerous renovations, most recently in 2006! The hospital has four dog and cat examination rooms, a dedicated bird and exotics room, a large reception area and ample parking. Our facility also includes two treatment areas, an in-house laboratory, x-ray room and two dedicated surgical suites. We are especially proud of our Comfort Room, designed with a couch and soft lighting to resemble a homelike atmosphere for pets and their families. The Comfort Room is available for visits. If your pet becomes ill, you'll be able to give them the compassion they need. We have seen the difference it makes when a family member comes in for a visit - eyes brighten, tails wag and cats purr! This is a therapy only family can provide and we are pleased to be able to offer you this option. During times of heartache, when euthanasia is the only option, the Comfort Room will be available should you wish to be with your pet. ACCREDITATION: The licensing body for veterinarians in our province conducts regular on-site inspections of our premises. This process is designed to protect you and your animals. It ensures that our facilites meet specific standards set out by our profession including equipment requirements, proper patient record-keeping, safe drug storage, medical reference library and orderly and sanitary premises.
